公益服务 Community Services

Community volunteer service has a long and proud history in America. Many of SCCS students and parents have devoted countless hours to serve our community. Their altruistic acts not only make our community a better place to live, but also mold their characters to be role models in our community. Here are some highlights.

Lyme Light

About Us

The Lyme Light is a non-profit performance group. It currently consists of a dozen of members ages from 10 to16. The troupe was established in March 2013 by three mothers with the intention of providing community service opportunities for our students. Since then, Lyme Light has traveled to surrounding senior centers and nursing homes. With great talent and filled with love, caring and respect, the performances were widely praised. As for the students, the laugher and enjoyment shared with the seniors are the most valuable lessons that cannot be taught in the classrooms.

Mission Statemtent

To create a platform for students to build sense of loving, giving and respect while providing quality performances to entertain seniors in East Connecticut senior centers and nursing homes.

President's Volunteer Service Awards

President's Volunteer Service Awards

SCCS is proud to become an official, registered certifying organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA). SCCS can now nominate the volunteers in our school and our community, verify eligibility, and distribute the President's Volunteer Service Award to them.
The President's Volunteer Service Award is designed to recognized individuals for their service throughout their volunteer journey. There are five categories and three rewards in each for most categories. Recognition may be given to an individual, group or family for hours served within 12 months or lifetime of service.
